Goats are a staple in the Rwandan diet and the rain forest climate is excellent for gardening all year round. This is a practical and highly beneficial gift that blesses your sponsored child's entire family!
Rwanda’s a very fertile country, yet at home, many of our kids just eat the rice that we send them and sometimes even go without food for days on end. A lot of knowledge was lost during the genocide. Our team on the ground, which includes a Nutritionist and Agriculturalist, want to change that.
A gift of just $20 per child will include a selection of seeds for planting a garden, a goat for fertilizer and meat, and a class for the parents on 'The Nutritional Needs of Children, Basic Gardening, and Goat Tending Techniques'. All of these will be purchased locally too, for optimal success in the Rwandan climates, which vary dramatically from north to south, and to stimulate the local economies where our children live.
We want to both encourage and equip these families for long-term success at home, because home is the foundation of the success in school and in life.
If you would like to participate in this option, please have your goat and garden purchased by end of business December 11th.
